The 2008 North West England International Trade Awards are the North Wests premier export awards devoted exclusively to recognising excellence in export, import and international trade achievement.

North West England is classified as the following areas:

2008 WINNERS PROFILE:

James Halstead plc

Radcliffe (Greater Manchester)-based James Halstead plc wiped the floor with the opposition to take the coveted North West region trophy in the 2008 International Trade Awards, sponsored by HSBC. James Halstead plc, founded in 1915, now specialises in the production of contract and industrial flooring products.

Company chairman Geoffrey Halstead, grandson of founder James, collected the award at HSBC's Manchester Commercial Centre in Spinningfields on 15 April. He said: 'we are delighted to receive this award which especially recognises the contribution of our excellent team to the achievement of success in many markets worldwide'.

2007 WINNERS PROFILE:

Long O'Donnell Associates Ltd

The targeted pursuit of advancement - together with an innovative remote working system that keeps costs down - was a prize-winning combination for Long O'Donnell Associates. The commercial and technical services provider based in Northwich, Cheshire, has been judged North West regional winner in the 2007 International Trade Awards sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland.

The framed International Trade Award regional certificate was presented to the company by the magazine's editor, Tony Bush, and, afterwards, Russell Grazier, RBS regional director, international banking services, offered his and the bank's congratulations.
