The International Trade Awards are the UK’s premier import export awards devoted exclusively to recognising excellence in import, export and international trade achievement.
Six regions have already chosen their winners who will be joining us at the House of Lords presentation on 5th March 2009.

Objectives of the Awards
1. Identify and reward the UK's most successful and innovative exporters
2. Promote the UK's top exporters as corporate role models in order to stimulate greater involvement in international trade amongst UK businesses
3. Promote the leading exporters of local and regional areas to encourage international trade by all companies irrespective of size and location
4. Further develop community awareness of the importance of exporting to the UK's economic future

Judging Criteria
The judging panel, chaired by Ian Campbell OBE from International Trade Today, includes experts in export, import and international trade, as well as representatives of sponsors, small business and the regions. All information provided to judges will be treated as strictly commercial-in-confidence.
The judges will pay particular attention to:
- Evidence of quality and innovation in the applicant's marketing strategy
- Overall company commitment and management excellence
- International trade growth achieved and the ability to sustain that growth
- Contribution to regional development
- Ongoing financial viability
How the Awards work
The International Trade Awards is comprised of a series of twelve Regional International Trade Awards.
Winners from each Region are announced at presentation ceremonies held from February through to January with the winners automatically progressing as national finalists to the International Trade Awards.
Regional winner to National finalist
The International Trade Awards culminates in March 2009 with the announcement of the National Category Winners and the UK International Trade Company of the Year at a prestigious Gala Luncheon and Awards Presentation at The House of Lords.
